Repeat Prescriptions
If you need to obtain your prescription or require a repeat prescription you should use the NHS App if possible, a link to this is above. The NHS App gives people who take regularly prescribed medication a quick, easy and convenient way to request their next batch of medicine.
You can send your request through the App at any time of the day or night – no waiting for the practice to be open, no phone calls and no need for extra trips to the practice. Requests via the NHS App or NHS Portal can be processed in just a few seconds as it is directly linked to your records and has no room for error.
HOW TO ORDER PRESCRIPTIONS THROUGH THE NHS APP
Step 1- Download the NHS App
Step 2- Create login
Step 3- Under services, select ‘Request repeat prescriptions’. Your preferred pharmacy, may be displayed at this point, please check these details are correct before proceeding.
Step 4- Your existing medicines available for request will be listed. Select the medicines you want to request.
You are only able to order repeat prescriptions. Non-repeat prescriptions are one-off medicines you may have ordered before. You will need to submit a medical request form to order non-repeat prescription, as this service is unavailable through the NHS App
Step 5- If needed, there is a free text box to add a note for your GP. If you need to make any changes, select the 'Back' option to return to the previous screen.

Delivery Service
We have a team of efficient delivery drivers who deliver medication on a daily basis to dispensing patients unable to get to the surgery.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer this service to patients who have to pay for their medication as our drivers cannot collect money.
The Pharmacy at Buxted Medical Centre, is open from 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. All patients who live within a mile of a chemist (non dispensing) may choose to collect their prescriptions from the pharmacy. A selection of over the counter non prescription products will also be available for purchase. A delivery service is available for patients unable to collect their medication.
Our onsite pharmacist at Buxted can help by advising on a number of different ailments such as cough, sore throat, skin rash, diarrhoea, and/or vomiting, constipation, headache, minor eye conditions, hay fever, head lice, insect bites and worms, blood pressure reading, the morning-after pill, smoking cessation and much more.
Medicines Management Team
Did you know we have a dedicated Medicines Management Team (MMT) within the practice comprised of a Clinical Pharmacist, and several Pharmacy Technicians?
They work under the clinical supervision of our practice GPs, within their professional competencies and are all registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). The MMT help the practice in a variety of ways, including;
• Dealing with medication queries
• Provide advice about alternative medicines, where possible, when there are supply issues
• Reviewing medication requested off repeat and issuing if appropriate
• Arranging blood monitoring for some long term health conditions that require medication
• Conducting annual medicines reviews using medical notes – making sure your repeat prescriptions are safe and following latest clinical guidance
Our Pharmacy Technicians also lead our patient facing high blood pressure clinics, including diagnosis, treatment and ongoing monitoring.
