Group diabetic clinics

We are now offering patients the opportunity to attend a group annual diabetic review as an alternative to having individual appointments. These sessions have proved really popular with patients are are being run by our diabetic nursing specialists Debbie and Lorraine.

If you've been having personal reviews for a number of years, you may find the group offering offers a change and different learning opportunity to what you've experienced before. Similarly, if you are newly diagnosed with diabetes you may find it really beneficial to meet with other newly diagnosed diabetics as well as patients who have been managing diabetes for a number of years.

Advantages of a group session:

  • No question is a 'dumb' question and it is likely others in the group will want to know the answer too!
  • Hearing individuals' (if a participant wishes to share!) personal and clinical experiences in relation to their diabetes
  • Still an opportunity for 1:1 time with a diabetes nurse specialist within the session to discuss your individual circumstances
  • Share 'tips, tricks and insight' into your managing your diabetes
  • Meeting new people who have the same health condition as you
  • Effective use of our nurse's clinical time being able to assist a greater number of patients as opposed to holding individual appointments
